The Long Silence is Over

HER: It's been too long since we've posted here. >.<. That shall change soon. I'll be sure to post about the next interesting event that occurs and I'll force the boyfriend to post too! >3.

Ganking Hordes, It's All Fair

HER: I'm not a fan of PvP servers, though I happen to be on one, but some of the moments are priceless. Today, in Honor Hold, there was a horde hunter, Nicknator, who was ganking in Honor Hold and killing our rogue alts. He was so skill-less, he killed me and then stayed on top of the stone in Honor Hold at half HP, waiting for me to rezz. (Or maybe he was way more cocky than he should have been.) Well, I like to pay back their kindness five folds. :>. Thrones had been moved to Honor Hold earlier so my boyfriend just logged onto Thrones and killed the hunter. And very easily since the Horde had just dinged. I guess learning how to kill level 60s was all he'd learned so far. He later attacked the eastern tower guards and was smashed by Thrones and a nearby Mage when we discovered him there. We waited for his corpse but missed him rezzing. That I had to give to him, how he constantly rezzed without our notice. Then Thrones flew around and I watched Honor Hold and saw him rezz and go onto a side wall to pick off a lv 67 Alliance. How much lower can he go. Though I guess as a hunter that is technically what he does: kill from afar. I called Thrones over and he easily killed the hunter. After this, the hunter became smarter and mounted quicker, but Thrones still slowed him with Chain of Ice and dotted him down to 25%. When he became cocky again and flew too low, Thrones DoT-d him again and killed him as he flew away. We did it once more, so a total of four kills, but the last time, he died while trying to fly higher and ended up dying very high in the air. XD. Finally he couldn't take it any more and logged out.

And for those curious, we did manage to pay him back five times. :>. Later, after a paladin killed us (who got away), we saw the hunter again and gave him our thanks again. After that, we didn't see him again; I guess he finally was too full of our generosity.

On a different note, I should write about the guild we've joined a few months back. :>. So stay tuned! :D.

HIM: There isn't much for me to say, but Luxuran still wants to me post. All I did was camp his corpse, kill him when he resurrected, then camp his corpse again, and kill him when he resurrected. Once again, I camped his corpse but didn't manage to kill him and was forced to put diseases on him and watch him die slowly. Then camped his corpse again, tried to kill him but failed, and was forced to put diseases on him again. And then I died, because I fell from too great height. And then he logged off.

Rogues' Testimony

BOTH: This isn't about our Lux pair but still interesting…

HER: Recently we've been training our rogues, trying to get to 50 (so I can learn more Leatherworking recipes and he can raise Engineering some more) and while questing, we like to queue for random instances. (They're a nice break from questing, the goodie bag (Satchel of Helpful Goods sometimes (being the operative word) gives a nice upgrade, and the extra gold's just the cherry on top.)

We were taking a small break from level leveling to level our lockpicking in Angor Fortress in Badlands. Up popped the announcement that a team was found and luckily for us, it was Zul'Farrak since we had the Troll Temper quest to complete. After a few pulls, our tank just up and left us. I still have no idea why… So as rogues, we started Sapping the humanoids. The hunter and my boyfriend (since he's such a great rogue!) held aggro and we managed to go past quite a few groups of mobs, until the next tank came in, asking why the last left; was it because people kept pulling aggro.

From there, it was just a normal run until the stairs encounter. The tank decided she was confident enough (she asked if she should and I replied, if you feel confident enough) and pulled the whole first group, leaving just us two rogues to try to hold out until the others could revive themselves and run back where we were. My boyfriend did most of the aggro holding, though I'd like to say I did a decent share. :P. And between Evasion, Vanish, and Heavy Runecloth Bandages (thank god for them!!), we managed to stay alive and the rest of the team was back in action just before Nekrum Gutchewer.

That is one trick I hope we don't have to pull for a long, long time.

For curiosity sake, we're level 46 and 45 (her and him) and questing in Tanaris. It's nice since we just portal to Caverns of Time from Dalaran.

And I love wowhead.com… Nicely "reminds" me of items, mobs, places, and just things in general.

HIM:
The Stairs.

God's most cruelest joke or the most fun part of Zul'Farrak.

As it turned out for us, it was both.

Our tank rushed forward and decided to pull the entire mob that spawned at the bottom of the stairs, dying shortly after the pull. Mainly because the healer wasn't ready.

Soon our hunter followed and our healer, well let's just say our healer got off easy. He didn't have 20 mobs with murderous intent to bludgeon him to death.

But we rogues have stared Death in the eyes and laughed at him.

So we stood our ground at the hordes of mobs running up the stairs. We knifed and striked from the shadows, vanished and bandaged when we could. We bided our time when we needed to.

And on the battle went until finally the hunter ran back into the fray and all hell broke lose.

When the dust finally settled, two rogues silently vanished back into the shadows, leaving the lone hunter on top of the pile of bodies, littered at his feet.

Torch Juggling: He Never Stood a Chance

HER: Blizzard's reputation to Luxuran: dislike (raised from hated). Thanks for last post's comment Mister K.

The Midsummer Fire Festival is the first festival Luxuren and I participated in. Last year it didn't require level 80s so it was a nice way to get the last few levels (we were around level 70 then). I found it fun to try daily in hopes of getting the Scorchling.

This year, we were finishing the last of other two "main" pairs and needed the Torch Juggler achievement. We spread about half a screen apart and tried to throw the Juggling Torches to each other. We weren't going fast enough so we decided to do it individually instead. He wanted to go first so I threw him my torches and watched him struggle. I need to go faster, he commented, since he only threw about twenty in the 15 seconds. He clicked faster to get it and then it was my turn. After a bit more than one try, (since we didn't stop after 40 torches, we just kept going until we met the achievement), I got it. Next, we threw them to each other for fun and came up with a challenge. We divvied up the torches (sixteen-seventeen each) and on a count of three, we started throwing them to each other, with the goal of getting rid of them. At first I was stuck at ten torches and couldn't seem to get rid of them, so I pushed myself even more and watched as the amount I had crept to 3, 2, 1. And then 0! Victory goes to me. :>.

HIM: Today Luxuran and I had a juggling contest. I knew she would be a tough one to beat as no one has ever beaten her on button smashing games yet. But I thought I had the advantage here, seriously thinking I had a good chance at beating her, especially since she was doing so poorly on the first round. Thus, I challenged her to a second round, even betting my manly pride on it. But boy is she deceptive, playing me for the fool I am. She left me to bite the dust that she whipping up with her button smashing skills. I was never more humiliated in front of so many WoW players watching in the audience. /cry

The End of My Love for Blizzard

HER: Let me count the ways I love HATE thee (in reference to both Blizzard and it's Midsummer Fire Festival)… You're too hot (in the middle of summer, though technically I love summer, but I digress), fiery (aiming for the braziers aren't too hard but boy does it get tedious after a while), full of drama (the kabooms from all my misses from torch catching), and full of world domination angst (stupid scorchling, teasing me, acting all cute, and making me want to earn one).

Actually, I just love the little Scorchling and want wanted one for myself. I was so excited about the festival since that meant more opportunities to get the pet. Unfortunately I DO have a life and couldn't farm Ahune 24/7 for two weeks last year to get him. Now, I HATE Blizzard for removing the pet (thereby rewarding those who are slaves to WoW) and I'll say that a million times until they put him back!

Nor does my boyfriend really seem to care since he was annoyed listening to me vent. =.=. Truthfully, he's very sweet. He does all the annoying torch throwing and catching for my characters. *Kissies to him.*

[This was going to be an upbeat, silly post until I found out that Ahune's pet is this new consolation prize, Ice Chip.]

Once Upon an Oculus

HER: This post is dedicated to Mister K. Thanks for the comment. We don't play too much, hence we don't write too much. If we had started this blog earlier in our level 80 career, we might have had more posts. :>. (*Whispers.* There is one draft... waiting on Luxe. -.-. God, I have too much patience with him. ;P.)

So it's been a while... Yesterday started the Midsummer Fire Festival, ugh. (Luckily it's only two characters instead of all three of our "main" characters. We each have three level 80s, that we consider mains.) So today we logged to try Lord Ahune on all our mains. Uneventful, though it is kind of cool (no pun intended) that we also received two Emblems of Frost from him. So yay to two weeks of uneventfulness...

HIM: I find it kind of cool the new system Blizzard has implemented into the Dungeon Finder for the festival bosses, which makes it a lot easier and faster to find people to kill the festival bosses.

HER: From there, we considered one daily heroic. (Dailies, and weekly to an extent, are really what has killed my enjoyment of WoW: how they feel like chores that I must do, else I miss out on a day I could have earned Frost Emblems. And tch to one of my boyfriend's main, who was being considered for a guild, since now he doesn't need them any more. <.<.)

HIM: Baby!

HER: Well, it's not fair. XO.

But trudging ahead, we decided to "collect" our two daily Frost Emblems and queued up... for The Oculus. Meh. Once upon a time, it was my dreaded daily too. It was extremely confusing (I don't do well with 3D/non-linear maps... o.o.) and it seemed we were required to be sacrificed at least once before a successful kill of Ley-Guardian Eregos. Theses days, I am much better with the map. (I still get confused sometimes... Does that make me bad with directions. ^^'.) And the players know tactics better so it's a much easier kill. (Until you try for achievements that is; people still don't understand how to use the Bronze Drake. =.=). Your turn my sidekick. :D.

HIM: Today in Oculus I was doing the daily HC on my priest for the first time in a long time. Oddly enough my discipline priest had no trouble at all healing regardless that it's been many weeks since I have played on him. Like usual we were breezing through Oculus, and yeah Oculus has become extremely easy as nowadays everyone is familiar with the dungeon and overgeared for it. Just before the final boss Ley-Guardian Eregos, I asked if anyone wanted to do the Amber strat to make it more interesting. As usual our group was the strong silent type. So we did it normally. Now as it appeared no one wanted to take the ruby dragon role, I did it instead. Normally you'd expect the tank to do it but he may not have been familiar with it. We downed the boss smoothly with no trouble. I proceeded to loot the chest first and received my bag first as well. And oh lah lah I found Reins of the Blue Drake in my bag. /cheer

HER: "Oh la la?" When have you ever said that. On a different note, I missed a friend's whisper while zoned out here posting. >.<.

HIM: I've used it often... you just haven't heard it because... It's all in my head. :P.

HER: *Rolls eyes.*

Luxa vs Grocklar

Animated:

Full size:

HER: Nothing really brings me to WoW these days. For me, the addiction is finally calming down and I'm enjoying my time doing other activities. (Thank god...) However, my boyfriend still plays it fairly consistently and is even on his trial period for a new guild. Thus today, he was out roaming (on his other 80) and saw a rare, Grocklar, lv 74, and suggested I log in to kill it for the achievement. And quickly, before he loses his dkp. It was bland. Not a hard fight for two above average geared level 80s so he was down in no time. (Felt like we were ganking him. o.o.) As for the loot (Rock-Giant's Pinky Cover of the Marksman and Abandoned Adventurer's Satchel with 18G 6S 3C, 20 Frostweave Cloth, 5 Crystallized Air), I "won" both: the hand from the roll and the satchel because it was my turn to loot. :P.

HIM: Today, Thrones had his first trial raid with EA. As it so happened I had about 15 minutes to prepare for the raid. I noticed I was a bit low on food buff food, so I went to Grizzly Hills to gather some Worg Haunch. It so happened I crossed paths with Grocklar. I called out to Luxuran and proceeded to wait for her. Sadly, I was running out of time as raid invites had started. But once Luxuran had safely landed in the Grizzly Hills, I asked the raid leader if I could temporarily leave the raid to kill this rare elite with Luxuran. Soon after the kill I received my invitation to the raid again and proceeded to leave for Icecrown Citadel.
